Yeah I know it’s a lot. But 4th Quarter for hip hop this year is as busy as retail so expect things to get repetitive.
Jay is planning a movie for “American Gangster.” He wants it to be a “Streets is Watching” style musical/movie. Also, plans to tour. Here’s what he said to All Hip Hop.
“What I really plan to do is shoot ['American Gangster'] as a movie. Like a better ‘Streets Is Watching’. Doing it like a musical. Real stories and get somebody in there that’s [going to do] real writing. Someone to shoot it like ‘The Godfather’. I know that’s a little ungracious, but that’s how you gotta place it.”
“I really look forward to touring because of the musicality of it all. I’m looking at a band right now. I’m looking to tour this summer. With all that instrumentation that’s in that album ['American Gangster'] forget about it.”
Everybody makin a big deal about Lupe messin up the Tribe lyrics but it was barely half a bar. Artists do that to their own songs..so this is me sayin Lupe gets a pass for that one on 221. BUT he also had this to say about it to Okayplayer…

Word to me that dude in the middle look like Biggie! (a lil off but, still the best i’ve seen yet) That’s 6′3, 315 strong De’Andre Neal from BK. These are 3 of the 100 plus that showed up in hopes of playin the role of Frank White on the BIG screen. But from what i hear, he got the deep voice and everything.
We’ll see..based on this pick, he got my vote.
