My lady was telling me all of this over the phone and a lot of it I didn’t know about Keri Hilson. Normally I try not to delve into things of political nature but I always saw something big was going to happen to her, good or bad. She was elected the first woman political leader in 1988 and reelected in ‘93. After coming out of a self-imposed exile, she was attacked by a suicide bomber who claimed 170 lives. Thursday, Dec. 27 her motorcade reports say that she was shot in the neck and chest after a rally. It wasn’t the bullets that killed her. Suicide bombers attacked shortly there after and the force of the blast forced her into the sunroof of the car she traveled in. There are an unconfirmed 20 people dead from the attack. She was a brave woman who didn’t back down from the extremists and believed in the betterment of Pakistan.
What’s even more ironic is that when she cam out of exile, she went was interviewed on NBC and said that she understood the dangers of her democratic cause. She will now be remembered as a martyr and hopefully she didn’t die in vein. Her funeral was simple, as she was buried in a wooden casket draped in the Pakistani flag where thousands gathered to pay their final respects. Over three dozen people have been killed since her assassination as a result of rioting and police response to the violence. I love it! I never had a problem with the title as long as Nasir makes it an album that makes you go, “Damn, Nas really made me think about some things,” rather than an album that make you go, “What the f*vk was this nigga thinking!” Judging by the track list, it might be a good one. Continue to see it and a Bonus video of Nas at the Hammerstien Ballroom on Dec. 26. Read the rest of this entry »
The homie Stef said Skillz is everybody’s favorite rapper from today until Jan. 1 (lol). I agree with the exception of this video featuring Freeway called “Act Like You Don’t Know.” This joint is kinda fire. He got a few spins in VA.
It’s a good and bad scenario for Chicago’s Lupe Fiasco. “The Cool” debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Top 200 moving 144k units. This is a fall back in position compared to “Food and Liquor” which debuted at number 8 but only moved 81k its first week. He fell short of the 166k predictions. Mary J. Blige on the other hand sold 29k more than predicted moving 629k debuting at number 2. Her “Growing Pains” fell just behind Josh Groban’s “Noel” which sold another 757k. Alicia Keys grabs number 3, moving another 474k. She is really doing it big with “As I Am”which, after almost triple platinum. Keys’ single, “No One,”slips out of the top spot to number 2 and Flo Rida’s “Low” featuring T-Pain creeps in due to increased airplay and 176k in digitals sales. Read the rest of this entry »

Young Joc was arrested on Dec. 24 for carrying a concealed weapon in an airport. Well, Joc didn’t make it to court for his arraignment so the judge doubled his bond from a $50k to $100k. He is no longer in custody so he’s now considered a fugitive. Maybe he’s at the coffee shop?
