Top 10 Ringtones of 2007

AT&T released the top 10 ringtones of 2007. If you know nothing about today’s music industry, that’s where the quick buck is made. Get a hot single with an infectious hook and gain revenue from ringtone and singles. I thought for sure Soulja Boy was number one. While On the topic of Soulja Boy, people use that kid as a model for everything wrong with hip hop. I don’t totally disagree but I blame the listeners that feed into it. If the people like it, then why not give the people what they want? My only problem is when you call him a “hip hop artist.” In no way does his music hold any artistic merit. He’s a rapper. He puts words together. That’s it. There are no metaphors that you don’t get until three years later. Simple beats, simple rhymes, and his college tuition (please, go to school Soulja Boy) paid in full. The funny thing is that he’d be the man in college. lol Shouts to G-Baller for emailing the list this morning. And Happy Birthday, fam. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here’s the list…
