Lil Wayne was arrested last night on felony counts of possession of dangerous drugs, narcotics possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia in Phoenix, Arizona. The DEA was called in when Wayne’s tour bus passed through a US Border Patrol checkpoint and officials found 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy pills, 105 grams of marijuana, a .40 cal handgun that Wayne has licensed in Florida. Weezy is being held in the Yuma County jail awaiting arraignment.
Weezy is set to perform in Richmond, VA on Friday, Jan. 25 and promoters may have to cancel the show depending on the outcome of the arraignment.
UPDATE: Wayne was arraigned this morning (Jan. 23) when he appeared in court via video feed and bond was set at $10,185. He is set to reappear in court at 10:00 on Jan. 25 so I am going to assume that the show at the Landmark Theater scheduled for Jan. 25 is canceled.
