Details are still minimal but it’s gonna be called “Live, Struggle and Celebrate.”
Tell them asap man it’s gonna be called “Live, Struggle and Celebrate.” We got a lot of songs done we keep recording and we going in strong. The Lox are great MC’s and have plenty of material recorded and man I know it’s gonna be hard to pick that final track listing. It’s D-Block!
Good one. I hunted for this one earlier today, but to no avail. I would have thought UHTN would get it first after his “moment of truth” with Ross. Anyway, I should have the album by the weekend. I’ll let ya’ll know what’s up.
This is the original version of the “American Gangster” Bonus track. There are additional vocals on the hook and slight differences in delivery and lyrics.
New York-rapper, Jae Millz, announced yesterday that he’s signing with Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint.

I don’t know why this got no burn.
“We just drawing up the paperwork, but I’ve been rocking with [Wayne]since the first week in 2008. I’ve just been keeping stuff low, but Young Money is what it is, and I’m still Wanna Blow. The “Holla At A Playa Remix” is going to be out in two weeks. We’re moving, Young Moola Baby!”
As a recent (unlocked) iPhone drone, I can really appreciate this video. Ok, this guy replicates one of the widely televised iPhone commercials and proposed to his girlfriend using album covers from the iPod, pictures, Safari and the phone function. Steve Jobs need to cut a check, if you ask me. Anyway, I think that’s some smooth geek-G to run. It worked, too, since the girl (Doris) said “yes.” Wouldn’t you, ladies?
Jay-Z made a surprise, two-song, cameo appearance at a Linkin Park concert last week at Madison Square Garden. If you remember, Jay and the ‘Park recorded an MTV Mash-Up together, which was blend of their music. I still love Chester on the “Numb/Encore’s” hook. They also did “Nigga What, Nigga Who” where Jay took it back to the baldy and the Lexus with the spittin’.
Call me crazy but “Numb/Encore” > original “Encore.” Sorry Kanye.
Lil Wayne has agreed to appear in a series of public service announcements for Houston mogul J-Prince’s Strapped Condoms. Launched by the Rap-A-Lot Records founder in 2005, Strapped has embarked on a campaign to educate youth in identifying high risk behavior patterns that contribute to the continuous spread of HIV & sexually transmitted diseases. “In the midst of this crisis where HIV & AIDS is the #1 killer where our race of people is concerned, I salute Lil Wayne as an authority figure for taking a stand to inform our people to use Strapped Condoms & to Stay Strapped for Life,” J-Prince said in a statement announcing the effort. The campaign will consist of ads and PSAs targeting youth between the ages of 18-24.
Rumor on the ‘net is that Kanye and 50 Cent are in collaborations for a remix to “Flashing Lights.” Even bigger, Jay-Z and Nas are said to be releasing a collaborative album called “Kings of Hip-Hop” (obviously) under Carter Music Group, which is also rumored to be launching really soon.
“If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em make an record with ‘em.”
The results are in for ABC’s tele-play, “Raisin in the Sun,” starring Sean “Diddy” Combs and Sanaa Lathan and it turns out that it didn’t do too bad. That’s an understatement, of course, as it held the number one spot in prime time ratings, followed by NBC’s “Deal or No Deal.” So, “how did Diddy do,” you ask? Well, he’s now going “bicoastal” as he plans to move to Los Angeles to seriously pursue his acting career.
I watched bits and pieces of the film and Diddy did pretty good. Like Common, he needs to just come out of his shell. It was his first major role and he’s following in the footsteps of Sidney Portier’s stage rendition of the role of Walter Lee.
Combs does a fair enough job hitting his marks, and he has successfully made himself into a working-class man of the middle 20th century; there is no trace of his own fabulous life in his portrayal of Walter Lee, but there are no overtones in his performance, no intermediate shades — it’s all primary colors. It’s impossible not to notice that he works at a lower skill level than his costars, who support but also eclipse him. He seems merely petulant in a role that requires us to feel him half-mad and twisted up inside — “You’re damn right I’m bitter,” he says, “I’m a volcano, I’m a giant, a giant surrounded by ants” — and the weight of the play shifts to the women who put up with him, each of whom he resents for one thing or another — not supporting him sufficiently well or, in the case of his sister, who wants to be a doctor, getting the support he feels he deserves.
Can’t go wrong with Youtube.
Shouts to Dee for letting me know that this was out there, via NahRight/MTV Sucker Free.
The video for “I Know” was directed by Philip Andelman and features Lenny Kravitz daughter, Zoe. The vid’s treatment describes it as “a surreal, daydream-like blending of four separate and unrelated stories, four unique trips taken on by four girls in one night in New York City.”
Mission accomplished or… ?
I think they could have gave a little more with this one. Maybe incorporated Hov in the smoke, lights or some other paraphernalia. I give it a 6.8/10.
