Alicia Keys Covers Blender Magazine

(First, and foremost, you already know Alicia Keys gets full reign on221.com.)
Keys is expected to cause quite a bit of controversy in the May/June issue of Blender magazine, being labeled a “conspiracy theorist.”
Conspiracy number one relates to gangsta rap. “Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. Gangsta rap didn’t exist,” says Keys in the Blender interview.
Keys’ second theory almost brings her first to fruition with ideas on the escalation of the bicoastal feud between the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. She blames the media and government for fueling the beef in an effort to “stop another great black leader from existing,” she said.
The content of Keys’ music may change from the songstress she is known to be, to more of a modern day Janis Joplin. She tells Blender that she wants to make songs with a political messages. If black leaders of the past “had the outlets our musicians have today, [their message would] be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself,” she said.
