Hip-hop Pioneer Joseph Saddler, better known as Grandmaster Flash, has been in the game since conception at the end of the flashy disco era on the streets of the Bronx. Now, he’s telling his story in a new tell-all book.
“The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats,” published by Broadway Books, is about the price of success –”from his violent family life to his contentious relationship with his first label, Sugar Hill Records, to the drug addiction that very nearly killed him.”
Flash, 49, along with the Furious Five, went platinum as artists under Sugar Hill Records and are the first and only hip-hop act in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Spear-heading such success was the anything-but-nice Sylvia Robinson. “She did do some things that in today’s world would probably get her head chopped off,” Flash told the NY Daily News.
The Grandmaster is credited for the techniques that are customary to hip-hop DJs and is working on a new album called “The Bridge.”
The Ticallian Stallion himself, Method Man, wrote a graphic novel with art by Sanford Greene –DC Comic artist– that is set to be released July 23.

This is a must hear. This is about 47 enlightening hilarious minutes of Ghost just giving commentary on everything from brushing teeth to hustling, to the ladies. I chilled with Ghost before and the way he speaks on this, is the same way he speaks at all times. But you’d be surprised at how much sense he makes. It started out as a segment on MTV2 and is now an audio book.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Marvel movie, Iron Man. Robert Downey, Jr. plays Tony Stark/Iron Man in the 2008 big-screen blockbuster based on the comic book. Gwenneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard co-star along with Ghosface Killah making a 16 bar cameo and is hyped about acting. Now, Disney and Marvel have teamed up and will be doing movies together. I wonder how much that’s gonna affect the actual content of the movies. Anyway, this movie better be better than Spiderman 3.
