Sorry that you haven’t seen much action on221 over this past weekend. The ‘powers that be’ tried put me on pause for violating the DMCA with some of the new songs I put up. Well, since they’re probably watching, I’d like to say this to the fuckers at the RIAA “I-will-no-longer-violate-the-laws-of-the-DMCA.” Well, I’m back at it now. Good to see that there wasn’t a dip on traffic. I must be doing something right. Thanks for rockin’ with me and I’m back at it as we speak.
This is a quick blur so you’ll have to look fast –better video on it’s way as I am doing this from my iPhone. As the story goes, Jim Jones and the Dips were returning to their dressing rooms when an undercover NYPigD officer started taking pictures of the crew. When someone told him to stop, the officer pulled out his pistol without even flashing a badge first. Jim said, “Don’t do me like Sean Bell!” before the crew got him out of there. That can be a very ugly situation. I’m sure that one of the entourage was holding so that officer is lucky he didn’t get shot. Very bad move on that pig officer’s part. I, for one, think he was out of line but, then again, it is the NYPigD.
I don’t know any more details than what’s divulged in this video, but it seems like the Young Money and GED chains were stolen from Young Money Artist, Tyga, and 40 Glocc and Village Boo got their hands on it. Tyga is the kid who sings that song that goes, “Put di lime in di coconut and mix it all up,” and recently signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money.
Besides Ja Rule, why do the sidekicks always get robbed for the crew chain? Remember when Buck’s man D-Tay got the G-Unit spinner stolen?
The new governor of New York, David Paterson, is already springing into action on hip-hop’s behalf. Well, not really, but he did issue Ricky “Slick Rick” Walters an official pardon yesterday, May 22.
The pioneering hip-hopper is facing deportation due to a bylaw that mandates all legal aliens to be deported if convicted of an aggravated assault or felony weapons charges.
Rick — a legal immigrant from the U.K. raised in the Bronx from since he was 11 — plead guilty to attempted murder in 1991 at age 25 when he shot his cousin and a bystander.
Rick was sentenced to three to 10 years in jail but served over five years. He was arrested again when he performed on a cruise ship that was entering the US in Florida.
“Mr. Walters has fully served the sentence imposed upon him for his convictions, had an exemplary disciplinary record while in prison and on parole, and has been living without incident in the community for more than 10 years,” said Paterson.
Expecting to be tried in Florida the governor’s pardon is a valiant effort to keep Rick from being deported.
Reminisce “Remy Ma” Smith was described as “an extremely angry young woman whose anger is completely out of control,” as Judge Rena Uviller handed her an eight year jail sentence Tuesday morning.
Remy -found guilty of assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion- appealed for leniency in tears, claiming that she was brought up around “poverty and drugs and violence and failure.”
“Remy Ma is not even close to who I really am. I’m not a thug,” Remy continued. “I’m not a threat or a menace to society, and I still have so much to offer.”
After shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the stomach over $3000, the judge believed otherwise.
Hubby-to-be, Papoose, reportedly exploded at the victim after sentencing. Remy and Pap were to wed yesterday in the prison but the nuptuals were canceled after Pap tried to smuggle in a handcuff key.
“All you want is money,” Papoose screamed at Barnes. “Lock me up! Lock me Up!” he yelled before being escorted out of the building.
This is terrible. Then again, that was kinda me when I was younger. Remember the name ‘Menace?’ The difference is that I did dumbness just because, and not ’cause an adult told me to. Either way, SMHat the young me and SMH at these kids, and all cosigners…
Ok, so this guy runs on stage at a show in Angola, grabs 50’s chain and runs off. I don’t think 50 realized it got snatched, right away. I’m not sure if the guy ended up getting away after 50 & co. gave chase but I’m sure we’ll hear something about it via a Hot 97 call or something.
UPDATE: The person who snatched 50’s chain was turned in by his yesterday. Read the story here.
Pardon me for playing catch-up but it seems harder and harder to get on 221 on weekends. I do apologize and hopefully my weekend hiatuses will come to a stop. Anyway, for those that don’t know, Sean Bell of Queens, NY, was shot 50 times the night before his wedding by members of the NYPD. They were found not guilty on Friday afternoon. Cops prepped for riots after the verdict was announced but there was no violence. Bell’s family mourned at his grave site and avoided media comment.
Queens, you already know how it is with law enforcement.
Foxy Brown was released from Riker’s Island today and you would have thought a Kennedy was around with all of the publicity. There were no fireworks like Miss Info inferred, but, close enough. Now she’s off to do things that’ll probably get herself back in C Block. Just kidding! But she is due in court to face charges for Naomi Campbelling beating her young neighbor with a cell phone. Fox is due to drop an album in the summer and start a reality show on VH1. Sounds like an ex-con to me.
